Nurain Bte Abdul Rahim
of Sekolah Rendah Rimba II emerged as a winner in the Spelling Competition for
11 schools in Brunei III Zone. Nurain Bte Abdul Rahim beat 32 other contestants
in the event held at Sekolah Rendah Tungku. The contestant from Sekolah Rendah
Orang Kaya Setia Bakti Kilanas, Jasmin Kong Pei Ting came in the second place
while Mohd Hafiz Bin Nulazmi from Sekolah Rendah Tungku came in the third
place.
The competition is
aimed to enrich the vocabulary for the students , improving the students
overall language performance particularly in English and providing the platform
for the students to build their confidence on stage and represent their schools
in national competition.
The winner in this
competition will represent Brunei III zone in the National level and compete
with selected winners from other schools in a particular zone. Senior Education
District Officer at the Department of Schools in the Ministry of Education,
Haji Zakaria bin Haji Duraman attended in the event as the guest of honour and
later presented the prizes and certificates to the winner and all the
contestants.
